The Mask of Matilda Dixon
For over a hundred and fifty years, the vengeful spirit of Matilda Dixon preyed upon the children of Darkness Falls, Maine. Once a kindly young woman…skilled in the old ways, but badly burned in a fire, she was loved by all of the children of Darkness Falls. And despite the fact that she wore a porcelain mask to hide her face, the children were not afraid of her. Whenever one of them lost a tooth they would bring it to her and she would give them a gold coin. However, during a cold autumn evening, two of the town’s children disappeared and being misunderstood by the townsfolk as she was, they broke into her home and hung her in the town square. Her last words were a curse…the children of Darkness Falls would fall prey to her if ever they glimpsed her face. Later that day, the missing children were found safe and sound. In the years following, Matilda’s ghost would take a tooth if placed under a pillow and leave a gold coin for the sleeping child, but if a child woke up and glimpsed her face; their broken body would be found the next morning. It wasn’t until Kyle Walsh returned to Darkness falls after The Tooth Fairy killed his mother 12 years earlier, that  events were sent in motion that ultimately led to Matilda Dixon’s demise. This mask comes form Kyle Walsh’s personal collection. It is the mask that Matilda wore all during her 150 years of terror. But beware, we do not know for certain that she was really destroyed and she may return for the mask that hid her disfigured face. .
This is the first in my line of artifacts based on some of my favorite horror movies. The Mask of Matilda Dixon is cast in fiberglass resin and finished to look like aged and burned porcelain. The mask is 10 inches long, 5 inches wide and3 deep. It cannot be worn, but can be hung on the wall and comes with the attached hanging cord.
